Florida International University is a public research university in Miami with some 54,000 undergraduate and graduate studying pursuing degrees in 200 fields, ranking it among the 10 largest public universities in the country.
FIU truly is an international university — nearly two-thirds of its student body is of Hispanic origin, with students from throughout the United States, as well as from nearly every country in Latin and South America.
FIU’s journalism program offers all kinds of classes taught by all kinds of teachers. At right, the classes Neil Reisner teaches, though not every class every semester.
A lot of Reisner’s students think he’s a really good teacher, but not all of them agree.
That may be because he sees Dr. House and Grumpy are two of his role models.
Deep down, though, Reisner’s a kind, sensitive, gentle, compassionate soul.
Sometimes, it just takes a little while to figure that out.
